To empower participants with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to effectively design, deliver, and evaluate educational experiences, fostering a positive and impactful learning environment for students.

Target Audience

This course is designed for pharmacy residents, fellows, and graduate students who are interested in learning more about teaching.

Overview

Participants will receive formal training in delivering pharmacy education in the classroom and in the clinical practice environment. This 12-month program will occur longitudinally throughout the year and provide opportunities for course facilitation in the classroom, precepting pharmacy students in their pharmacy practice experiences, and providing a formal lecture. Participants will learn about evidence-based teaching methods in higher education, craft a teaching philosophy, and engage in virtual sessions to discuss and solidify the concepts of the program.

Course Requirements

  1. Complete both the FERPA and HIPAA trainings as assigned by the University of Florida.
  2. Complete module lectures and assignments as designated on the course website.
  3. Facilitate approximately 20 hours total in skills lab courses at the college during the duration of the program (~2 skills lab days per academic semester).
  4. Participate and contribute in quarterly virtual sessions that occur synchronously with the program.
